Get a second job? Thats what I did when I was broke.

What are some wayas to save money?

Where there is a will, there is a way.

There are so many ways to save money; however, if you do not have the will ( a deep in your guts belief that having sufficient money will give you freedom and joy while a lack of it will lead to unimaginable suffering), you will dig your way into debt through credit cards an other means.

It all comes down to this. Are you willing to give up short term gains for long term freedom? Because after all is said and done, the only way to save is to give up something you want now for something you want later.

What are some wayas to save money?

First and foremost way to save money is to stop spending money. I know it sounds obvious - but identify things you spend money that you dont have to (i.e. Starbucks, cigarettes, alcohol, name brand peanut butter, etc...). You dont have to completely get rid of the items you identify but you can cut back and save a lot of money.

Instead of going out to dinner with friends have a dinner party at your place. Make it pot-luck where everyone brings a dish. Still have fun and be with friends but save lots of money.

One last tip from the experts - pay yourself first. Save something - anything. Even if its only $5 every paycheck. It will take time but you will eventually have a fair amount of money.

I remember being in that same position. I know it can be hard. Well a suggestion might be to start a rainy day fund where each week or each paycheck you take $5 or any small amount you can spare and put it toward your fund for dinner with friends, etc...Once you start putting this money aside you won%26#039;t notice that it%26#039;s gone anymore and you will learn to manage your bills and expenses without it. Hope this helps!

At one point I did work 2 jobs for about 5 years and it just got to be too much on me so I learned to manage without the 2nd job.

Start looking at every bill that comes in for things like cable, phone, insurance, internet, etc. On each one, start looking into whether there are cheaper levels of service or competitors offering a better price. I did this one year and knocked $150 off of my monthly payments by switching auto insurance to Costco, my internet from Comcast Cable to AT%26amp;T DSL, My long distance from AT%26amp;T to some no name company, and switched to a different package on my cable.

I also ditched my monthly fee cell phone for a prepaid one from T-Mobile, because I%26#039;m a fairly light user. Went from $20 a month to $100 per year.

These monthly expenses sneak up on us, because they sound like a good deal at the time, but often we end up not using it enough or staying with the same company when cheaper alternatives come out.

As for credit cards, do you get those 0 or low percent balance transfer offers in the mail? Read the fine print and if acceptable, use it to pay off debt quicker. Once the car is paid off, keep driving it for another 5 years, payment free, while saving up the payments.

These are all good answers.

Make a budget before you do anything. Make it on Excel and at the top list your income, all of it. Then below it, list all of your bills, no matter how small. Rent/Mortgage, Credit Cards, Utilities, Savings, etc.

Below that, include a space for Medical/Dental, Auto (including insurance, payments and gas), Groceries (for you and your pet), Miscellaneous (clothes, tools, etc.), Charities, Cash Withdrawals, Entertainment.

The special categories (medical/dental, auto, groceries, misc, charities, cash withdrawals and entertainment) is where we tend to overspend. Once you start keeping track of what you spend you quickly notice where you can cut back.

When my husband and I had our 2 kids at home, we didn%26#039;t eat dinner out. We ate dessert out (ice cream, water ice, etc.). It was much cheaper and we could do it once a week. And for all the cool dishes we saw or heard about in restaurants, we experimented and learned how to make them, even better.

I would also check into consolidating some of your debt. If your credit rating is good then talk to a lender about consolidating the credit card bills, school loans and car payment. Then you pay one bill and you don%26#039;t have to worry about a missed payment or a late payment (usually when they raise your rates without you noticing it).

If you have your own home or even rent and have more than 1 bedroom, consider renting out one of your bedrooms to someone you trust. Someone who has a good job, pays their bills on time and is also looking to save money. The bills are split in 1/2 and you can start saving money right away.

You can work part-time on the side. Find your passion and do it. Especially if you can make good money without a lot of hours. Know how to play a musical instrument? Teach classes. Good at math, science, chemistry, etc.? Tutor others (and charge for it!). You can set your own hours and rates.

Also, retire the credit cards. Keep one basic Visa or Mc for emergencies only and get in the mindset that you will not charge more than you can afford to pay off in a month. Then you aren%26#039;t being eaten up with interest charges. We did it and are out of debt. The only bills we have are our mortgage, utilities and misc. No car payments and no credit card debt.

You are only limited by your own imagination. Good luck!
