5 classes 13 credits!?

im getting nervous now that a new semester of college is about to begin. I%26#039;ve been going to community college for about 2 yrs now and i%26#039;ve been paying it straight out of my pocket. I am now unemployed and trying to finish up school by going full time. This is my first semester in which i had to take a school loan out which only came out to 1800. most of my classes im registered for sound kinda hard, and i dont wanna fail anything that im takin out a loan for. i%26#039;m also not working so i can get financial aid next semester, but im finding it quite hard to not work and pay my bills. I%26#039;m pretty sure that alot of people are on the same boat, but i was wondering how most of yall are dealin with it.

Have you applied for all of the aid you can get???

Have you spoken with the financial aid office at your school?

Have you spoken with your faculity advisor (not the counselor) but the actual head of the department you are majoring in? There are sometimes extra money in these deptartments and they will give a scholarship. How are your grades? Even if they have been less than great before, you can raise them now and perhaps get an educational scholarship as I did from grades...have you thought of student housing? You sometimes even get a discount at apts if you show them your student ID...Take your student ID everywhere and ask if they give a discount...even 10% at taco bell is better than nothing...it does add up...Some schools even have 2 bedroom family units in their on campus housing...if you are married or have kids...the rent is cheaper there than in a normal apt.

Check at school for a job, preferably in your area of interest, but they always need help in the bookstore, library, and computer labs...you can work in between your classes and before and after class...

Good luck, it is hard, and unless your parents were very rich and decided to foot your bills, every college student is broke.
