How to get money for college??

I know there are many questions with this but I hadn%26#039;t found any with my specific problems. Well I got married really young and inherited his financial obligations and what not. I%26#039;m 19 yrs old, been out of school for 2 yrs now and was forced to go to school right out of high school. My husband got a school loan in his name and we used it all up and are now having to pay on it since we aren%26#039;t in school anymore. I have no money to pay for it, and we already had a loan out once and owe on that. I am in a rut, I really want to go to college to better my life now but I feel that it is not an option anymore. Is there anything I can do?

How to get money for college??

You can go to college to better your life. Don%26#039;t let people tell you there is no way to pay for your education.

You should fill out a FAFSA. FAFSA is grant money given by the fed government that you do not have to pay back. Here is the link

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

If you have a school in mind you can talk to a academic adviser. They are there to help you figure out what you want to study, they can can also help you with the applications and any transcripts that they might need.

You should also go to the school%26#039;s financial aid office and talk to them about your situation they are there to help students figure out ways to pay for tuition. There is the FAFSA as well as state grants to help those in need.

Just be open with the financial aid counselor and the academic adviser that%26#039;s their job to help students.

Also never get a private loan for school! There are scams out there always go through your school%26#039;s financial aid%26#039;s office for help in paying for school and books.

What kind of school loan did your husband get? Was it a private loan or a loan given out by the school? I think you 2 should get all your debit consolidated.

I would recommend that you pay a little bit over the monthly minimum. So that way you pay off the interest, and pay the debit in a shorter amount of time. Also do not take any loans out to pay your debit or any new credit cards. You should try calling credit card companies to see if they can reduce the amount you have to pay. They will work it out with you.

As far as going back to school. If it%26#039;s been a while you can go back to school and start new. The same goes for the FAFSA. However you might be on a probation status. You might want to start with one class mostly if you have to pay the tuition yourself. That way you can prove to your school that you really want to be back in school. Try your best to get a C or better. Also ask your school if they offer online classes that way you can do it from home.

Don%26#039;t feel bad about telling your school this information they actually are okay with returning students. They are there to help you. Just be open and honest in your intentions.

Get a job and pay for it.

Edit:

You can save money by cutting out unnecessary expenses...internet, cable, etc...

If your education is worth it to you, you will find a way to pay for it.

How to get money for college??

What do you mean, you %26quot;inherited%26quot; his financial obligations? No, you didn%26#039;t. Marrying someone does not mean you %26quot;inherit%26quot; their debt obligations if you weren%26#039;t a party to the agreement from which the debt arose.

Sorry, but it almost sounds as if your husband was more interested in the student loan proceeds than in your going to college. He could have (and should have) gotten a refund if you didn%26#039;t want to start school yet.

Check out www.fafsa.com but you should also be looking to your spouse to help you. Also check out the websites of relatively-inexpensive two year community colleges. If you make the two years you may be in a position to transfer to a four year school if you want a bachelor%26#039;s degree.

No one%26#039;s life is over at 19. Get in contact with the schools you are interested in and don%26#039;t lie to them.

If you are lucky enough to arrange to get into a college, work hard on your studies. Just having a degree is not enough anymore. And for God%26#039;s sake, make sure you don%26#039;t get pregnant before graduation.
