Do student loans pay off your credit card bills?

I%26#039;m trying deserately to go back to school, taking at least 3-4 classes a semester.. I owe so much and my bills consume all but a little bit of each paycheck. I can%26#039;t afford not to work full time, but I need more time to study and take the classes I need to graduate. Otherwise, it looks like I won%26#039;t be able to go back to school for another 2-3 years.. in which i%26#039;d be 30 and would like to have a family... which in itself.. requires money as well.. Any help, suggestions, advice??? Please...

Does being married help you at all with qualifying for money for school (FAFSA)?

Do student loans pay off your credit card bills?

You get student loans for school tuition, classes, etc..but then anything left over is given back, you can keep it or send it back. But keep in mind you still owe that money out and will have to repay it all with interest. To get some of your student loans down try to apply for work study, also Americorps will pay your tuition and give you a stipend to live off of, so that may be an option.

But you should def go to school even if you just take your time with it (school part time but go thru summer ) and work full time..

Do student loans pay off your credit card bills?

NO, student loans do not go to your credit card bills. First they pay for tuition and fees. If you have left over money, depending on the type of aid it is, you may get a refund which you can use however you see fit.

If you have already paid your tuition and fees completely, no one (from a good, reputable lending company) will give you a loan. The companies check with the school first to make sure you actually need the money to pay for tuition.

To your original question, no student loans will not pay off your credit cards.

When applying for your student loan and if you are married, they will look at a combined income.

You might want to really think about going part time for school if you can not afford to pay your bills. You need to go to work part time.

Many students do that.

Your going to get yourself into deeper debt if you don%26#039;t work and pay off some of your credit cards, UNLESS family members are willing to help you. Live with a family member or borrow money to pay off your credit cards.

Student loans are to pay tuition and expenses associated with school. Depending on the sort of bills you have you may be able to negotiate with the creditor for smaller payments. Student loans are awarded on need and on first come first serve basis. The closer to Jan 1 you get your app in the better your chance s of getting a full grant.
