When is it a good time to buy a house? I am looking in Corona or Riverside CA.?

I have been living at home for the last 4-5 years or so to save up money, pay off my school loans, and now to buy a house. I have saved up quite a bit and i currently have no debt.

I%26#039;m afraid if I buy a house now the prices will continue to drop. I%26#039;ve seen people who have bought just 6 months ago (aug 07) already lose their home because the price dropped below what it was worth.

When do you think it will be a good time to buy a house? Keep waiting? I keep reading that home prices are going to continue to crash... Buy a house and lowball the seller?

Hey There, if you are planning to buy now is a good time to start because is a buyers market, also buying a house is a long term investment, there is lot of perks go can get at this time, please let me know if I can assist you, my advised is for you to get a REO or short sale property do not get a house that is at a fair market value, because they might drop in value but if you are able to get something that is 5-15% lower that the market price is going for you are safe, remember the market eventually will turn around.

The answer is simple. Please don%26#039;t listen to all the amateur economists that want to tell you what%26#039;s going to happen in the market. The bottom of the housing market will be reached when buyers just like yourself decide it will. Once consumers start to buy again, that is where the bottom will be.

The time to buy a home is when you are in a financial position to do so; when you can comfortably make the payments on a home priced so that you can afford it. Homes are supposed to be long term investments. Saying that people lost their homes because they bought 6 months ago and the price dropped is a copout. The truth is that they decided to walk away from their obligations because their dreams of an instant ATM machine disguised as a house didn%26#039;t pan out. If you have the house you want and you plan to stay long term, movements in the market don%26#039;t make a bit of difference. Buy when you find what you want, at the price you want. Ignore everyone else, including me.
