Does anyone else get frustrated not OWNING a house?

I am so SICK of renting, but I have no money saved up, tons of school loans, just screwed up my credit (4 months of bad luck = a DESTROYED credit report/score), so I doubt I will ever have my own home in the next 5 years.

UGH! I want to foster animals, and haven%26#039;t been able to find a house to rent within a reasonable amount that will allow that!

Tell me I am not alone in feeling this frustrated!!!

you are definitely not alone, but guest what, every problem has it%26#039;s expiry date. I found that out and now life is a lot less frustrating when things aren%26#039;t always going my way.

It is so much worse owning a house you are trying to sell and not being able to sell it. Trust me, I%26#039;d be glad to be renting right now!!!

I was. Then I bought a house. Now I am so frustrated and scared. The mortgage is overwhelming.

I%26#039;m a renter, and yah it SUCKS! But it%26#039;s our first rental house so I am dealing with it now. But in the future if we want, we can buy it which isn%26#039;t to bad. But i feel for you about the bad credit thing. Ours is beyond repair right now. Good luck!

No you are not alone. Renting bites. I would love my own home and be able to decorate anyway i want. And i want dogs and cant have them here.

You are young enough. Stop moaning and make a plan. Put off your dream of fostering animals. Believe me, 5 years from now, there will be plenty.

Now, save $10.00 every two weeks. ANYONE can do that. Pay yourself first. That comes to 240 a year. 5 years from now you will have saved enough to move. Now, stop buying on credit. If you can%26#039;t afford it you don%26#039;t need it. Make arrangements for your school loans. They are very easy to work with.

I understand frustration, but 5 years goes very fast. Change your life style, you can do it.

I had the same experience. I got through it. You can.

I didn%26#039;t know any people in their 20s obsessed with owning .

You need to be somewhere 7 years for it to break even over the cost of renting .

If you have school loans and credit issues ,

You are NOT ready .

Renting an apt is normal for a 20 something .

Go focus on getting your $$$$ matters cleaned up ,

Then think about buying .

FYI - Just buying a house does NOT mean you can have bunches of animals ..

There are zoning laws .

Not owning a house is great!!!

If something needs fixing, all you have to do is pick up the telephone and call the maintenance man/woman or the landlord and by law they have to fix it.

No yearly taxes.

Some apartments pay your utilities which is costly nowadays.

Forget the animals. Your home would be filled with flees and ticks. Have you not been reading all the questions on how to get rid of flees out of homes???

You are on easy street, my friend.

Hi Shyamala. Know what? You got it together just by knowing where you have to focus your fix its. You%26#039;re real frustrated now, but like everyone says 5 years will fly by. It%26#039;s wonderful you have a big heart for animals. Seek out your local shelter and volunteer. Contact vet offices and see if they have something you can help with. You will have a wonderful learning experience while you dig out of your hole. God will provide a home for you %26amp; all your foster babies cause you live good. Hang in there.
